I got braces and rubber bands. Do I have to wear rubber bands all day?

Yes all day and night is best.
Yes usually the rubber bands should be worn all day and just taken out only to eat and then new ones on after eating . If it is causing any discomfort then please let your dentist know .

Yes. Absolutely. Rubber bands are required to achieve the planned predictable movement . The more you wear them, the more successful your orthodontic treatment is.

This is a hard question for me to answer as I'm uncertain how your orthodontist advised you. Most of the time one wears their rubber bands 24/7 except for when they are eating a meal. Some patients only need to wear them a certain number of hours per day. I would advise you to check with your orthodontist and make sure you are following the proper treatment plan.

The more hours you wear the bands, the faster you will complete treatment. If you wear them 50% of the time, treatment can take twice as long.
