Do I need a dental follow up after getting dental implants?

I had a few dental implants installed two years ago. I want to know if I need a dental follow up?

All of your existing dental work should be being checked at every 6 month check.
Of course.
You still need your implants checked at 6 month intervals
The short of it is yes. Dental implants is a lifelong commitment to have check-ups and cleanings. Although they can’t get cavities, implants are susceptible to gum disease. If peri-implantitis or inflammation around the implant is noted, having it treated in the early stages will give a better success and reduce the damage to the surrounding bone.
Hope this helps.
It is even more important if you have implants to do more frequent follow-ups since the implants don’t have nerves. The only way to maintain them is to get X-rays and cleanings done every 3-4 months in addition to good home care.

ABSOLUTELY! Teeth restored with implants should be maintained and monitored by a dentist just like natural teeth. Professional cleanings are recommended two to three times a year, depending on your overall dental health.

Yes, you need to take care of implants just as if they were real teeth, that includes 6-month cleanings at least.
