Periodontist Questions Gum Grafting

Do I need gum surgery?

My gums bleed every morning, and I am 25 years old. I'm not sure why it's happening. I brush regularly, and they seem like they are the right color. Would I need gum grafting surgery because of my gums?? What determines it?

It would be extremely rare for you to need gum surgery at this age, unless you have never been to the dentist. You may just need a professional cleaning.
Best route, visit your dentist and get a check up
Unlikely, you must see a dentist to keep the gums healthy.
Floss your teeth twice daily for two weeks. If bleeding persists, consult your dentist.
Bleeding gums is mostly a sign of gum inflammation which could vary from mild gum disease to severe gum disease, either way, you need to see a dentist to evaluate whether you need a prophy or deep cleaning (scaling & root planing), Most patients with bleeding gum that have not had proper cleanings in years, have major improvement after their hygiene visits. Some cases tho, might need gum surgery later on for management of remaining inflammation. It is hard to guess what you would need without seeing the clinical scenario but make sure to see a dentist for a check up.
