Do I need to go to the ER for ankle swelling?

I just noticed yesterday that my right ankle was swelling. I woke up today and now my left ankle is swelling a little as well but no pain in either.

Looks like your entire leg.
Probably vein or heart related.
I short, no. I do think you should be seen by a doctor though.
You can go to your podiatrist to have it x-rayed. No need to go to an ER.
Yes. You should. Any liver, heart, or kidney condition will give you bilateral leg edema. Also, a venous blood clot (DVT) needs also to be ruled out.
I recommend that you see an orthopedic or podiatrist to have an xray done
Only if you think trauma is a contributing factor, it could be metabolic and should be evaluated.
The Er isnt necessary.
I would make an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist for evaluation
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) or your primary care physician for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options
You should see a cardiologist to make sure you don’t have high blood pressure, venous insufficiency, or congestive heart failure. But it’s most likely venous insufficiency/fluid retention, and you should at the very least start wearing compression socks up to your knees.
