There are 2 large bones in the forearm. I would need to see the x-rays. You can do a zoom consultation with me.
The decision is multi factorial. It depends on fracture displacement, location, Intra-articular, configuration of fracture, communition, stability of fracture, age of patient, activity level, and comorbidities. I would suggest to see your doctor for evaluation.
Fracture of the arm can be treated without surgery but may take longer time to heal and there may be some loss of alignment. Your orthopedic surgeon should be able to discuss the options and the risks and benefits with each type of treatment. I have treated multiple patients with and without surgery and the outcome in general has been good. I wish you speedy recovery
Normally, vast works but Surgery with IM pinning may be necessary.
