THYROID ASPIRATION WITH A SKINNY 28 GAUGE NEEDLE IS USUALLY WITHOUT ANY ANESTHESIA. SOME GIVE LOCAL ANESTHESIA. I FIND LOCAL ANESTHESIA IS MORE PAINFUL THAN JUST DOING THE ASPIRATION. DR NORWOOD
