Does a front tooth root canal need a crown?

I am a 33 year old female. I want to know if a front tooth root canal needs a crown?

Not always. If it wasn't due to decay and it does not discolor, then maybe.
Not necessarily
Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn’t. Visit your American Dental association dentist for an honest discussion about proper treatment.
Dear Reader,

Great question. Without seeing your tooth, if the tooth is intact and only needs a filling to close the access hole where the root canal was done, the answer is no. If your tooth has a sufficient amount of structure missing, has large fillings present, or is discolored, a crown is probably the best way to go. I would talk to your dentist to discuss your options.

Hope this helps,

Yes, all root canaled teeth should be crowned. If not, those teeth weeken from the lack of living nutrients and can become brittle and fracture
Often times a front tooth requires a root canal as a result of trauma. In instances where the trauma has not compromised the structure of the front tooth, a crown is often not required. However, if a significant amount of tooth structure has been compromised by decay, or fracture then covering the tooth after root canal treatment is ideal.
After a root canal is done, the tooth usually discolors and that is one of the reasons a crown is placed. The second is that the tooth becomes much more brittle and to keep it from breaking, a protective crown is placed over it.
