Fall

After falling on my right knee, leg has swollen and is now bruised from knee to foot. Is there a best way to alleviate swelling? Currently I am elevating my leg when sitting. I am still able to move my joint and walk. Crouching down is not an option, yet. Should I be taking an anti inflammatory as well as elevating my leg? It has only been a few days since the accident. No sprain or break is present and except for the stiffness and swelling my leg is not painful. Please tell me the best treatment I should take and don't tell me to go to a doctor. I will if the swelling doesn't subside. Thank you.

Swelling and limited motion could be from a ligament injury. Earlier diagnosis and treatment are important to achieve the full function of the knee. I would suggest going to the nearest ER or urgent care or Orthopedic doctor. Thanks
Add ice packs 30 minutes on off with the elevation.See doctor in 1 to 2 weeks of no improvement.
Ice, brace, and Motrin Can pull fluid out with a needle as well.
