Cardiologist Questions Heart Palpitations

Heart Palpitations

I am a 42 year old female here in the United States and for the most part, I am relatively healthy but I do have a history of GERD, Panic/Anxiety attacks, Agoraphobia, and mild lung restrictions. In September of this year, I did undergo surgery for gallbladder removal. I have been having issues with my menstrual cycles being irregular for the past year as well. Also, for the past year to two years, I have been getting occasional heart palpitations and have been to the hospital numerous of times about them and after a good work over and even being admitted for cardiac observation, everything checked out fine and the doctors believed that it was likely due to stress/anxiety and possible dehydration. About June of this year, the palps became more frequent to and I have been having them nearly every day. I have been back to the emergency department many times since June, because of the heart palps and labs, cardiaz enzymes, d-dimer, and everything else including EKG and Chest X-rays have checked out fine.. I did have an echo done 2 years ago and it too was normal. My primary doctor doesn't seem concerned as she stated it could be anxiety and stress and possibly perimonopause despite my hormones being normal. I don't walk much as I should and I am slightly over weight but not by much and when I was in my healthy weight range in the past, I still had them. I can't see a cardiologist here without a referral. These heart palps scare me and increases my worry and anxiety. I am also hypochondriac. I will admit to that. Any idea as to what this could be and should I be worried?

I cannot evaluate the basis for a referral or the absence of one from the information presented. Ambulatory ECG monitoring can objectively demonstrate whether the palpitations are associated with a heart rhythm abnormality.
