Hi. I was exposed to hiv. I was having sex and the condom cut. I was advised to start pep which I have. However, I’m scared that the drug might affect the kidney or liver. As I would be taking it for 28 days. Should I be worried?

Thanks for the question. The risk is minimal but not zero. You can have your kidney function monitored by your doctor.
With almost all of the meds we use for PEP, there is minimal risk to your kidney or liver over a month. It is okay to keep on the PEP.
