If you prescribe pain medications, you need to take them along with antibiotics.
If Ibuprofen is not contraindicated by your health conditions, it has been proven to be the best form of pain relief in regard to oral pain. Alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen is a great pharmacological regiment for post operative oral pain. Always consult with your doctor before taking any medications and be sure to consult with your provider as there may be another issue with the tooth extraction such as dry socket which will likely not be remedied with any form of oral analgesic.
