Follow the post op instructions and take it easy. Healing rates vary and anything you do to disturb the surgery site can delay healing
There is not much you can do, but regular warm saline rinses may help.
Good hygiene is probably the best patient activity to improve the surgical outcome. Depending upon the specific surgery, there may be additional instructions that are for the patient's best good. Always keeping the area clean and using disinfectants will improve the desired results.
Soft tissue and bone only heal so fast, however, doing things like warm saline rinses (once rinsing is OK) or using a molecular iodine rinse (typically a professional product that your dentist may use in the office) can help with healing and discomfort. The biggest impact on healing is your overall health and nutrition. Be sure you are getting plenty of raw fruits and vegetables and that your vitamin D levels are optimal.
