They cannot! Chiropractors are not the right physician to see regarding acute injuries
There are many different types of injuries and parts of the foot and ankle that can be affected after an ankle sprain. The degree of injury is an important factor to consider in taking care of a patient with an ankle injury. Delayed surgical treatment can result in prolonged pain, long-term consequences and repeat injuries. A qualified Podiatric Surgeon can offer both conservative management of these injuries while keeping a close eye on the need to start a surgical protocol.
I am not aware how a chiropractor can treat a sprained ankle. Personally, I would not see a foot and ankle expert if I had such an injury and stick with chiropractors for back injuries

Hello. I would recommend seeing an orthopedist or a podiatrist for treatment of an ankle sprain.
Chiropractic cannot help a twisted ankle in my opinion.

I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO GO TO A PODIATRIST, I DO NOT KNOW IF A CHIROPRACTOR COULD HELP.
If the sprain results in a misalignment of the bones of the ankle, a chiropractor can realign them.

Chiropractic can realign the joints of the leg, ankle, and foot. It can also be used to improve healing of the soft tissues that are commonly damaged in a twisted ankle.
