How do you manage chest pain/panic attacks while flying?

I am a 55 year old female. I wonder how do you manage chest pain/panic attacks while flying?

Assuming the chest pain is truly from a panic attack and not underlying cardiac disease, the easy answer is a mild sedative (i.e., Xanax) or a glass of wine before flying. The longer answer is regular therapy with a licensed therapist that can help you work through your anxiety.
There are probably psychological ways to manage such as meditation which it wouldn't hurt to try. Some of my patients take a valium/diazepam tablet 5mg when they fly. That seems to help. If this problem is really disabling, I would suggest you see a psychologist or psychiatrist.
