How do you prepare your teeth for orthodontics?

I am wanting to get Invisalign or braces this year for better teeth. How do you prepare your teeth for orthodontics?

Maintaining good oral hygiene is important when getting braces or invisalign. It may also help to familiarize yourself with the list of foods that you should avoid while in orthodontics.
Make sure you go to your dentist first and take care of all decay before you get braces
Please visit your general dentist and have a cleaning and check up to make sure you have no gum disease or cavities and you are good to go!
You don't have to do much, however your Orthodontist will want to know that you are up to date with your regular dental visits, that all planned dental work has been completed and there is no active dental disease in your mouth!
Hello,

I am happy that you have decided to improve your teeth! I would suggest that you plan a visit to your dentist for a full check up. This will ensure excellent health of the teeth and gums prior to starting orthodontic treatment. You do not want to start any orthodontic treatment if there are any problems with cavities in the teeth or problems with the gums. Schedule a visit with an orthodontist as well so you can learn about your individual situation and if any additional work needs to be done before starting treatment to improve your smile.
I wish you luck on your journey to an improved smile!
Having a good consistent hygiene routine will help you adjust to having orthodontic work. Whether you are going to do Invisalign or traditional brackets and wires good brushing and flossing will be very important for a successful orthodontic treatment. Happy smiles!
Brush, floss and see your dentist regularly
Just keep them as clean as possible. Brush and floss twice a day. Thanks. Dr. Price
