If you have tightness between your shoulder blades, it’s usually a postural issue, but may be from an old car wreck or slip and fall, and coming from your neck, you should have X-rays to figure out what the underlying issue is.
Rhomboid stretches and thoracic mobility exercises are great for that shoulder blade pain. Also rolling on a foam roller.
Hope this helps!

You need a good chiropractor to examine you and figure out what's causing the tightness before getting treated. It would be a disservice to make an assumption of just the fact that you have tightness. It could be a lot of different things causing the tightness.

Tightness between the shoulder blades can be relieved by upper back stretches, but in addition many times there may be cervical or thoracic spinal joint dysfunctions that need to be released in order for the muscles to relax. Chiropractic spinal adjustments are often very effective for this problem. A spinal exam and history of the problem onset is needed to determine the proper treatment.

Strengthening the muscles between the shoulder blades and keeping good posture will help.
