Acne extraction is a one way to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads. Tretinoin or adapalene are medications that can help prevent black heads. Larger, or deep, painful acne cysts/nodules can be injected by a dermatologist will inject the blemish with a corticosteroid.
Our esthetician removes blackheads using an instrument called a comedone extractor (these can be purchased on-line). Certain medications, such as Retin-A and Differin, are used topically to prevent blackheads from forming. Differin is now available without a prescription.
