Urology Questions Kidney Stones

How is a kidney stone dissolved?

My urologist told me that I have kidney stones but not to worry because they are so small. He thinks that they would dissolve. How does this usually happen?

For the most part, the only type of kidney stones that dissolve are uric acid stones, which comprise 15% of kidney stones. If your stones are uric acid, alkalinizing your urine can help dissolve the stone.
You formed it and it will not dissolve by itself, it needs help with oral citrate
