I will have a tooth extraction. How long after extraction can I get a dental implant?

It depends, the extraction site has to heal generally 4-6 months before an implant can be considered. It also depends where in the mouth the tooth was extracted? Your provider should have done a socket preservation procedure at the time of the extraction to aid in healing and promote bone formation. If, the site was too badly infected it may not have been possible.
An Implant can be placed immediately at the time of extraction, after soft tissue healing (8 weeks), or after bone healing (4-6 months). Which you choose depends on the specific clinical scenario.
