“How long before parasites are no longer contagious?”

I am thinking I could have caught a parasite (fecal-oral route in the USA), but I don't have strong symptoms. It's mainly just a slightly unpleasant feeling in my torso and slightly sore throat, but that could be allergies. I was wondering how long it would take for me to become no longer contagious if I did have some parasite.
