How long does it take to realign a sprained ankle?

I am a 38 year old female. I want to know how long does it take to realign a sprained ankle?

The answer is: depends. depending on the injury, mechanism of injury, extend of the injury, how quickly treatment began, etc.... please seek podiatrist or orthopedic for consultation.
A sprain is a tear in the ligaments or tendon. Nothing is really misaligned. Misalignment comes with dislocations. A mild ankle sprain can take 6-8 weeks to heal. The soft tissue (ligaments or tendons) must grow back together again. It can takes several months after that to gain back all the strength in that ankle by doing muscle strengthening exercises.
It will depend on the type and grade of your ankle sprain. What will be important in your recovery will be to wear appropriate ankle support, such as ACE wrap, stirrup or lace up ankle brace, and ankle proprioception and balance exercises as you recover.
It depends on how severe an injury. Some can be healed in two weeks. More severe injuries can take 8 to 12 weeks.
If you haven't actually destroyed the bony alignment, it takes 2-4 weeks depending on the severity to heal soft tissue damage from an ankle sprain.
Approximately 3 to 6 weeks.
Is this regarding surgically or non surgically? Usually, depending on the grade and severity, but purely ligamentous ankle grade 2 or 3 sprain can take up to one month to resolve.
Usually, a sprained ankle that is properly taken care of will improve in 4-5 weeks.
Depending upon what grade of ankle sprain you have will determine how long it takes for you to get close to normal. But once you have an ankle sprain, you are most likely to have another if not addressed correctly by your podiatrist or orthopedic doctor.
Soft tissue injuries such as a sprained ankle can take a while to heal. Unlike bone which usually take 6-8 weeks, soft tissue can take longer. Depending on the extent of soft tissue injury I usually recommend immobilization for 2-4 weeks then physical therapy focusing on proprioception for another 3-4 weeks
It depends on how many of the ligaments are sprained and what the alignment of the joint is. For most people, it is approximately six weeks.

This question can be a little tricky to answer. Some severe sprains will require surgery and an extensive physical therapy course taking as long as 6 months to heal. While other minor sprains feel better after just a couple of weeks and some severe sprains take as long as 12 weeks. Sprains can be difficult to heal and should always be treated by a professional - this will often get you pain free much sooner!
Hello. Do you mean rehab a sprained ankle? I normally immobilize ansprained ankle until most of the pain and swelling resolves. I then send the patient to physical therapy. It depends on the severity of the sprain.
Realign is not the word. 4-6 weeks to heal, diminish swelling & pain.
Since you are still young, it should realign more quickly than 50+ yrs. old, depending how healthy you are in all other areas. However, a sprained ankle will need time to restrengthen. Also, depending on how badly damaged the ligaments, tendons, and the ankle joint itself are, it can take 3-6 months or longer to heal completely enough to return to your normal activities. The best thing to do is to begin a Rehab regimen as soon as the swelling and pain allow it. Consult with a Sport Trainer or Physical Therapist for ideas on specific sports injuries.

Depends on the severity of the sprain, if severe between 4 to 6 weeks, if not severe between 2 to 4 weeks. Tendons heal very slowly for the lack of blood flow through them.
Depending on the severity, anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.

In my experience 90% of ankle sprains heal with conservative measures. Bracing and stability in the initial stages to prevent healing in a loose or lax position, taking anti inflammatories for the pain. However, early functional rehab needs to be started to practice balance , proprioception, and strengthening of the surrounding muscles. All these will help you regain a strong, stable ankle. Certain underlying structural deformities will however make you prone for spraining your ankle, it is important you to be aware of your own foot type , is it one that is naturally prone to an inversion type injury. Additional measures may be needed in such a scenario.
With the proper treatments and therapies, it should take 6-8 weeks to full heal a sprained ankle. Make sure you do not do any excessive movements on that ankle while it is healing and always wear a brace as your doctor instructs you to. That being said, it is important to take the brace off every day for a few minutes of rehabilitative exercise to strengthen your ankle as it heals. There's no way to "realign" an ankle without surgery. A bad ankle sprain may be sore for up to 3 months. An MRI may be necessary if there is still pain at that time.
Feel better soon!

When you have an ankle sprain, it is almost never too early to be adjusted. I have personally adjusted athletes right after they have sprained their ankle, right on the field during the middle of the game, as I went out to assess the downed player. Typically, 1-5 adjustments is sufficient, however, proper rehabilitation is also needed to ensure that the functional deficits are also resolved so that you don't develop a condition that can affect your ankle for decades to come, which is called chronic inversion ankle syndrome. A specialized sports chiropractic physician is going to be needed to properly assess your ankle and help you make decisions from there.
To your recovery, cheers!
