How long does pain last after spine surgery?

I am a 45 year old male. I want to know how long does pain last after spine surgery?

Now this one is a very hard one to answer cleanly. It depends on what part of the spine is operated on. It also depends on the reason why you needed an operation in the first place. Also, your adherence to recommendations by the surgeon to do physical therapy and everything afterwards determines the length of time you will feel pain. It's a hard question to answer, however, things that improve your pain or the smallest incision possible for the surgery. Physical therapy and strength that help support the repair. And honestly not using narcotic pain medication as those tend to create a pain cycle where more narcotics are needed.
It depends on your innate healing ability and the effect of PT/OT. It can take 6-12 months.
