How long is local anesthesia for a colon biopsy?

I will have a colon biopsy. How long is local anesthesia for a colon biopsy?

You can elect to receive sedation or monitored anesthesia care for an endoscopic colon biopsy, but there are no pain receptors in the colon, so you will not receive any local anesthetics; the intravenous anesthetic you receive will end when your biopsy is completed.
I assume you are referring to a biopsy taken during a colonoscopy. In that case, there would be no need for local anesthesia. You would be under IV sedation.
It depends, normally, 4-10 hours.
