How long is physical therapy after hand surgery?

I will have physical therapy after hand surgery. How long is physical therapy after hand surgery?

This would be different for each patient. It also depends on the specific hand surgery that you had done. The best person to ask this question would be your physical therapist. If you’re not doing well, I would say stay in physical therapy longer, but if you’re doing well, you can stop. It could be a few weeks to a few months depending on how you do.
That really depends upon the type of surgery that you have undergone. Some surgeries often do not require any post-operative therapy, such as a carpal tunnel release. In contrast, other surgeries, such as after a flexor tendon laceration, may require several months of therapy. Best to discuss this with your surgeon. Good luck!
