Most Thyroid cases are day surgery, and you can be home on the same day as the procedure. There maybe a few days restrictions from strenuous work. Most people return to usual state of health within a week.
Thyroid surgery is a relatively fast recovery. The worst things you will complain about is a sore throat for up to one to two weeks, maybe some difficulties, swallowing, feeling of a lump in your throat, and a little bit of a horse voice for a couple of days. Most people tolerate this surgery very well.
