This question should definitely and only be determined by your eye doctor, ophthalmologist, or refractive surgeon. Generally, after LASIK surgery, it is imperative that all directions, drops to be used, working and exercise schedules, and any other questions be followed EXACTLY, ALWAYS. You just had eye surgery and now it is time for the eyes to heal and for the success outcome of this surgery to never be compromised. After the surgery, you will be first taken to the recovery area in order to allow you some time for yourself with observation before leaving. You will then go home, having a driver get you there, and to rest your eyes for 24 hours keeping them closed for comfort and healing. For the first 24 hours, minimize computer and screen time, avoid rubbing or touching the eyes, use any and all drops as directed, no strenuous lifting or exercise, no water, soap, or makeup at all near the eyes, and absolutely keep your postop visits which may include 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and yearly. Any and all directions will be provided to you with an informed consent form and every direction here may vary depending upon the type of refractive surgery performed, the exact health of your eyes, and your doctors preferences. What is listed is a guide or an outline only. FOLLOW YOUR EYE DOCTORS ORDERS EXACTLY, AGAIN, ALWAYS. Good luck and best wishes.
