Dentist Questions Oral Health

How often should I be going to the dentist?

l really only go to the dentist once a year, but my family thinks I should be going more. Every time I go, however, for my routine check up and cleaning, my dentist always tells me that my teeth are in good condition. How often should I be going to the dentist if I'm not experiencing any oral health conditions?

2x a year
It is good to go every 6 months in most cases
It is always recommended that you visit your dentist 2 times per year for evaluation and cleanings. This helps prevent a problem from arising. We would rather prevent a problem or catch it early than treat a bigger one.
It's usually recommended to see your dentist twice a year, although some patients may require more frequent visits based on their needs. Some patients may require less periodic care, but you and your dentist may assess your specific needs.
American Dental Association recommends visits twice per year for routine check-ups in periodic x-ray examination. Some specialist require three times a year such as a periodontist in order to keep closer watch on areas that have been surgically compromised
The rule of thumb is to see the dentist twice a year. Some patients are more resistant to dental problems than others and once a year seems to be okay. Others need to be seen more often. One important consideration to remember is that as we age our bodies change, and where once a year visits are okay in the beginning, eventually more frequent visits become necessary due to aging. Exactly when your metabolism will change is impossible to predict. One thing is for certain having an extra visit yearly will do no harm.
Ask  your dentist. Some patients need more frequent visits, some less depending on your unique situation.
Once a year.
