How often should you change your toothbrush?

I am a 25 year old male. I want to know how often should you change your toothbrush?

The rule of thumb is to replace your brush every 3 months or if you have been sick. I recommend a soft brush. You may feel that a stiffer brush is better, but it may be causing damage to the gums.
