Psychologists play a vital role in supporting children diagnosed with ADHD. Typically, a child will work with a psychologist weekly for 23 months and the length of time is impacted by severity of symptoms, age of the child, and more. While they dont prescribe medication, psychologists offer a wide range of effective strategies and therapies to help manage symptoms and improve daily functioning.

How Psychologists Support ADHD
Comprehensive assessment to understand your childs unique strengths and challenges.

Behavioral therapy and coaching to develop skills like organization, focus, emotional regulation, and problemsolving.

Parent training and guidance to help families create supportive routines and environments.

Support for cooccurring challenges such as anxiety, frustration, or low selfesteem.

Visit the doctor every few months to monitor treatment and adjust as needed.
This is entirely up to you and your doctor. Once people feel like they have a good medication that is effective, they may only see their doctor for their refill appointments. I would highly encourage that you meet with your doctor anytime you start to see changes in the patient or feel that their response to medication has changed. Also, many parents choose not to go the medication route and look into counseling/therapy for their child in order to work on executive functioning skills.
At the beginning of treatment, visits would be every other week. At the appropriate time, visits would go to monthly. This is for the therapy part of the treatment. Medication evaluation has a different schedule.
It varies for each person there is no one sizes fitscslll
I have no absolute answer to your question. Find someone you and/or your daughter might potentially want to work with and ask your question.
If you are interested in starting medication for your daughter to treat her symptoms of ADHD, you may initially need to see a psychiatrist or MD regularly in order to find the right medication and dosage. Once you find a good medication fit, you may then only need to see your doctor every few months to check in.
This depends on a number of factors including type of treatment, how long ago a diagnosis was made, and current presentation of symptoms.
It would help to see a psychologist once a week to maintain consistent progress in addressing your daughter's needs. If you/she decides that medication would be helpful, seeing a psychiatrist or PCP once a month is necessary.
Depends on the severity of the symptoms.
