How safe is dental anesthesia?

I am a 22 year old male. I want to know how safe is dental anesthesia?

With right precautions, it is quite safe.
It has its risks and should be done by an anesthesiologist, not by a dentist.
The safety of dental anesthesia is a complicated topic. If you're just talking about local anesthesia in most dentist's offices, its extremely safe. If you are talking about general anesthesia, it becomes even more complicated.

If general anesthesia (or deep sedation) is performed by an Anesthesiologist (an M.D. or D.O trained in anesthesia) it is extremely safe. If performed by a dentist, it is roughly 10 times more risky.
