Dermapathologist Questions Dermapathologist

How to treat this issue?

I went to the doctor with a mark on my nose, she told me that it was caused by the sun. She gave some efudix to apply. She explained that it would take weeks to go and that it would get worse before it got better. the problem is that it is getting into a bit of a mess. I am getting self-conscious about it. When I go to bed at night I wake up and my nose is all crusted up and has been weeping with blood. Is there any way that I can apply a dressing or covering?

Efudix cream makes the skin look worse before it gets better. Redness, crusting, and even some bleeding are normal.

How to Take Care of Your Skin:
Wash gently with warm water and mild soap.
Use a gentle moisturizer like Vaseline to soothe the skin.
Cover at night with a non-stick dressing if it’s weeping or crusting.
Stay out of the sun and use sunscreen.
Take paracetamol if it feels sore.
When to See a Doctor:
If there’s lots of pain, swelling, or pus (signs of infection).
If bleeding won’t stop.
If the irritation is too much to handle.

Sounds like a normal response, but put a bandaid on it and it will work better or not be as messy.
