OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions Fungal Infections

I am having frequent bouts of fungal infection in my vaginal region. What should I do?

I have been suffering from frequent rounds of fungal infection that keeps recurring in my vaginal region. What can I do to avoid this infection and prevent it from coming back.

Depends on where it is. Vaginal yeast inside the vagina that is recurrent can be caused by -diabetes, high sugar and carbs in your diet, perfumed bubble paths, the birth control pill and other causes.
External yeast on the labia and in the groin could be from diabetes, excessive sweating, working out in spandex and staying in wet exercise clothing, obesity or being overweight. etc

Your general state of health accounts for your ability to fight and prevent infection. Make sure you are in good general health. If you are taking birth control pills, are diabetic or pregnant, you may be predisposed to yeast infections. Other debilitating illnesses could be additional predisposing factors.
Recurrent yeast infection may be seen in uncontrollable diabetes and hormonal imbalances and with use of antibiotics see infectious disease doctor
Many factors can influence your vaginal health. You should be checked to confirm it is fungal. Diet and hygiene habits can disrupt the vaginal pH and cause recurrent infections. When you modify some of these factors you can decrease your infections.
Consult your gynaecologist for vaginal cultures, screening for diabetes and evaluation of current medicines and lifestyle to see if there maybe a common denominator.
