I have a pain and bloating feeling in my abdomen?

I am a generally gassy person, but over the weekend I was feeling more and more bloated. Yesterday, during a run my lower abdomen felt hard (not to the touch but internally when moving). Now today, it’s painful and feels more bloated and hard. I don’t know whether to point to some intolerance or something else entirely. It does hurt when I try to pass gas or use the restroom, and it’s not the first time this has happened. Side note: my period is due to come in 9 days, so maybe it’s because of that?

Significant pain, such as yours, deserves a full evaluation. You should really be seen by someone who could evaluate you fully.
My first inclination is to advise you to lower carbohydrates in the diet. Carbs often cause gas and bloating, so you should limit carbs and see if that improves things.
Some people have that premenstrually. Might be good to have a pelvic exam of you have not had that done recently. Irritable bowel can also mimic this.
