I have a ruptured bakers cyst?

On 9/10/21, a noticeable bakers cyst appeared on the back of my knee (I’m guessing I overworked my knee the day before- up and downstairs and on my feet all day). On 9/14/21 I put castor oil on the cyst and on 9/15/21, the cyst started bleeding with pus. Today, 9/17/21, the cyst is still bleeding a little bit with a little more pus. I have been icing, elevating, and doing physical therapy exercises for my knee for several days now. I have no pain in my knee but some clicking and “looseness”- no pain when I do therapy either.

It now looks like an open abscess on the back of my knee. I’ve been diligent in cleaning and keeping it bandaged and wrapped. Will this eventually heal on its own? I had a bakers cyst a year ago, but it never ruptured and went away on its own with physical therapy. (Tore ACL in this knee in 1993 playing basketball -broken cartilage removed but ACL never reconstructed).

This is not a Baker's cyst, this is an abscess. Go see your PCM for some antibiotics.
Consult a vascular surgeon or orthopedic surgeon.
YOU HAVE AN INFECTED KNEE, LIKELY THE JOINT AS WELL !!!!!!!!

SEE A DR ASAP
Recommend this be evaluated by a surgeon. A Baker’s cyst normally doesn’t rupture through the skin. If there is pus draining, that is concerning. Baker’s cysts typically communicate with the knee joint.
