Podiatrist Questions Podiatrist

I have foot pain?

A heavy object hit my foot at an angle. I iced my ankle and took ibuprofen. The pain went away the next morning. I had swelling on the bone on side of my foot and a little bruising. It's now swelling and bruising is spreading and I still have pain when trying to walk. What do I do?

Hello, Thank you for your question. We you have to evaluate you and take foot x-rays if needed. Please call our office 973-817-9577 or on our portal drtotten.com for an appointment.
Thank you
Going by your picture, there is deep tissue injury or bony deformity, recommend seeing a doctor asap.
Get an X-ray and go from there.
WHAT I WILL TELL YOU IS NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT FROM A DOCTOR, BUT I WILL TELL YOU TRY NIKKEN. YOU CAN BUY IT ON AMAZON. IT IS A TAPE. IT WILL STICK TO YOUR SKIN, YOU CAN LEAVE ON TILL IT STAYS, YOU CAN TAKE A SHOWER WITH IT ON. I HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR, AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IN A WEEK, ALL WAS GONE. MY WIFE HAD PAINS IN SOME PLACES, AND THE PAIN DISAPPEARED ALSO IMMEDIATELY. SHE EVEN TOLD ME IT WAS MAGICAL. NOT MANY DOCTORS WILL RECOMMEND YOU THIS BECAUSE IT IS NOT WHAT THEY PRACTICE. BUT GIVE IT A TRY, YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED. THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN IS THAT YOU THINK IT IS NOT WORKING, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO A PODIATRIST.
Hello,

Looks like you bruised soft tissues or have a small fracture of bone. If you can walk with little pain, then ice, elevate, projected for 5-7 days. If still painful after this time, have radiograph taken. If cannot walk without significant pain, have radiograph now.
Good luck.
Go to an urgent care for X-rays. If there are no fractures, then you have a contusion. Get off of the foot and elevate it.
See a doc. Get an X-ray. Probable fracture. Stay off it. Get crutches.
Seems like you either injured your tendon, your bone, or both. I'd start by getting in to see a podiatrist or orthopedist, and get an x-ray. If the x-ray is negative, then you have tendon damage. Most likely you will need immobilization in a camwalker for a period of time, depending on what you injured and how severe.
Please go to the emergency room or see if you can get a same-day appointment tomorrow, that bruising pattern can indicate a serious injury.
You need to be in an Aircast boot and get an X-ray of your ankle.
Rest, ice, immobilize with ace bandage, and if that isn’t enough to provide relief, use an ankle brace or a boot cast with the ace bandage. If that isn’t enough to help you walk without pain, then go to a doctor for an X-ray. If painful to walk with boot, may need a cast or crutches for non-weight bearing and get another diagnostic test. If it doesn’t show on X-ray, may need MRI to find out what the problem is.

You need to have it evaluated and get an X-ray.
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) ASAP for evaluation and treatment options. If unable to get in within 1-2 days, go to medical aid unit for X rays and evaluation and follow up with foot and ankle surgeon
Go to a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon for radiographs.
Don’t have an idea how old this is but looks normal for days to weeks. It will resolve with rest ice and compression as well as elevation.
Go see a podiatrist and get an X-ray. Bruising like that may indicate fracture or significant tendon or ligament damage that may require something as simple as cast boot immobilization or maybe up to surgery.
Could be a fracture or contusion. Only an x-ray or MRI can differentiate.
Bruising such as you are showing in this picture often accompanies a fracture. You should likely have the foot and ankle x-rayed. You may need a walking boot or protected weight bearing for a while. I would recommend rest and NSAIDs until you can get to a professional to evaluate the problem
Pretty obvious that you need to see an Orthopaedic physician and have a thorough exam including xrays.
