IUD

Hello! Can i getting IUD st general anesthesia or sedation?
Or pre medication or local anesthetic cream before cannula/iv goes in my hand? I have cerebral palsy and learning disability. And i'm scared of the needles. And hard to stay still. I have painful periods and they are very heavy.

Those are not typically placed in the OR. This would be a conversation with your OB/GYN. Sometimes they can prescribe an oral medication prior to your procedure or take one you already have at home. You may need to come in before hand and make sure all the paperwork(consents) are good. You can put a lidocaine patch for an hour or two on the hand they plan to use for your IV. That should take away the pinch of the stick, but you will still feel touch which is completely normal.
