Orthodontist Questions Invisalign

Invisalign, dental bonding, and gum grafts?

I am about to begin my invisalign treatment in one week. However, I was told today that I need gum graft surgery for receding gums and dental bonding for highly sensitive teeth. Can I get gum graft surgery and dental bonding to my two top and two lower teeth during my invisalign treatment or will my trays no longer fit after the bonding?

Let's solve your problems in a logical order. The person who does the gingival graft is not going to be happy if you put Invisalign liners over-the-top his good work so give that some time to heal. He or she will tell you the appropriate interval and release you so that you can go to the orthodontist and get your Invisalign. Any bonding should be postponed until the pressures on your teeth or lessened so as to protect any new bonding.
Dental bonding needs to be done before your invisalign trays are made. Grafting can be done during treatment.
You ask a good question. The grafting and bonding should be done either before or after Invisalign.
