Bone marrow biopsies are generally procedures. In adults the procedure is done under local anesthesia with the patient awake. In children, it is done under anesthesia , but the anesthesia is light and the patient is expected to wake up within a few mins after the procedure.. The total time for the procedure is around 30 mins
