Is chlorhexidine good for gum disease?

I have gingivitis and want to treat it. Is chlorhexidine good for gum disease?

Chlorhexidine is helpful for treating gum disease in conjunction with scaling and root planing or other in-office treatment. It can cause teeth to stain and affect the taste, so it's not advisable in all cases.
Yes it is, but it has to be used correctly in conjunction with a professional dental cleaning.
Chlorhexidine does kill most of the microbes that dominate gum disease. It also kills/damages our own young skin cells, blood vessel cells, etc. Its 'side effects' have rendered Chlorhexidine far less popular than it was a couple of decades ago. There is a reason it's been a prescription item. Saline from an oral irrigation device is far more effective and far less toxic. Add a bit of baking soda to the saline and it is even more effective. Several essential oil products are well proven by independent researchers to be more effective than Chlorhexidine, with fewer downsides, Thank you for acting.
Yes. But you must see your dentist for periodontal treatment.
Yes, but most important is very good brushing, flossing, and routine professional cleanings.
Chlorhexidine is an oral antibacterial promoted as safe and effective in conjunction with; appropriate home care and in-office cleanings. It is used in the treatment of bacterial oral infections such as gingivitis and periodontitis.
It is an aid but you need to see your dentist for treatment. Early minimal treatment will prevent more serious periodontal disease if left untreated. Good oral hygiene is essential.
U should have it examined by a dentist first as chlorhexidine is used after treatment of gum disease thanks
