Urologist Questions Urinary Tract Infections

Is dark yellow urine a sign of infection?

I have recently noticed that my urine has been very dark in color and carries a strong odor. Is this normal or could this be a sign of infection?

Yes, it can be a sign of infection amongst other things. It would be best to see your primary care doctor for evaluation.
Dark yellow urine is generally a sign of either dehydration or dietary factors that turn the urine that color, such as vitamin B complexes.

Color and odor can be due to a lot of different things. Darker yellow generally indicates dehydration so see it it clears with a lot of fluid intake. Odor can be from asparagus, for example.
No. You need to increase your fluid intake.
