Is it painful to get a crown put on your tooth?

I will get a crown next week. Is it painful to get a crown put on your tooth?

A crown is usually placed if there is a large existing filling or a large decay that compromises the tooth structure . Usually not a painful procedure . If the nerve is close to the decay or the old filling then can get symptoms and your dentist would let you know if that is the case . Otherwise a commonly done procedure and just slight sensitivity and maybe sone soreness is expected when you have the temporary crown on ( unless it’s a same day crown ) .
Hope that helps .

Cementing crown appointment, is actually much easier for patients, in some cases you might not need anesthetic or local anesthesia. The dentist will be removing the temporary acrylic crown, and cement your porcelain crown, after checking the fit, bite adjustment, and cleaning up the cement. Make sure you like the color and shape of your new crown prior to cementation!
