Yes, a lighter anesthesia depending upon your health and medical conditions.
All well-trained anesthesiologists administer anesthesia drugs in a careful, titrated manner, so that the desired drug effects are achieved at the smallest doses possible and allow for well-balanced pain relief, quick awakening, and early discharge from the hospital, if possible.
Anesthesia medications delivered through an parenteral route (intravenous, intramuscular, etc.) are predominantly weight based dosage with attention made to adjust based on a patient's organ function(s) along with a focus on intended depth of anesthesia and subsequent airway concerns. Many of today's anesthetic agents are very titratable due to their short duration of action and/or relative lipid insolubility.
The medications are the same, just in smaller doses, and we tend to use shorter acting drugs.
