Urologist Questions Frequent urination

Is there a remedy to control urinating in the night?

It seems that I am up every hour of the night using the bathroom. Is there a natural remedy that can help to control this problem?

Yes, but the treatment depends on the cause. I would recommend you see a urologist to help determine a cause and help you sleep better.
Getting up at night may be a sign of enlarged prostate or other heart issue. You need to see your urologist to be evaluated.
Urinating at night (nocturia) can be caused by many factors. Some people just drink up until bedtime and therefore off load fluid at night. Some people have lower extremity swelling and when you lay down at night fluid circulates more efficiently and the lower extremity fluid recirculates and is off loaded as urine. Some people (older men) have an enlarged and obstructing prostate, and this leads to voiding issues. Treating the prostate often fixes the problem. Point is, there are many causes of nocturia. Speaking to your urologist can help identify your cause of nocturia.
Natural remedies tend to help very mild symptoms and most have shown not to make any clinically significant difference at all. In regards to nocturia, or frequent urination at night, there could be an underlying medical problem that needs to be evaluated by a urologist. Nocturia in men may have a different etiology than in women. There are a wide range of treatments
available, but a full evaluation is needed first.
