Is this RLS or something else? Any solutions?

The only medication is nasal steroids. I've been on them for most of a decade. Before them I'd have sinus infections every other month, on them, I don't at all. Anyway...As long as I can remember, if I try to sleep on my back I just lay there endlessly unable to, after an hour or so I usually give up and just get comfortable the way I enjoy, which is face down. The real problem that contributes to that, is that as I get really close to falling asleep on my back I start getting what seems like RLS... A deep nerve sensation in 1 leg at a time, starting just under the buttocks, radiating downward, forces me to spasm my leg. I can fight it, by clenching very very tight, and I mean tight, until it goes away, but usually that just leads to the same thing happening quicker. What's weird to me, is this ONLY happens when I try to sleep on my back... and always has. Any theories? Suggestions? I'd like to sleep on my back if everyone says it's so much better for your back. I'm trying to improve my posture. I have a little bit of that lazy forward-leaning head and rolled shoulders thing so many have going on. Nothing major, just working on it.

What you have described may be Sciatic Neuritis. This pain is deep in the buttock running down your leg. It is a very painful condition, but many times Chiropractic treatment can help it. This would affect your sleeping position and posture in general. You would need to come in though for an examination with me and possibly x-rays or MRI to properly diagnose your condition.
Hello, for an accurate diagnosis we would need to perform an examination. You can call our office at (314) 932-1277 to schedule your exam and treatment. Thank you!
