Is vomiting a side effect of anesthesia?

I am a 45 year old female. I want to know if vomiting is a side effect of anesthesia?

Yes unfortunately nausea and vomiting are side effects of general anesthesia. But we use some pretty good anti nausea medicine to prevent it and most people don’t feel it anymore.

Vomiting is a side effect of an inhaled anesthetic, but usually is not associated with intravenous anesthetics with the exception of etomidate.
It is not necessarily a side effect, but some of the anesthetic gases can cause this. At the same time, some types of surgeries (abdominal, ear surgery) have a higher chance of causing nausea and vomiting.
