Mobile cecum

About 2 years ago, over a 3 week period of time, my stomach started bloating until I looked 10 months pregnant. This had happened 2 years earlier and I was diagnosed with SIBO. I went on a plant diet and took 2 weeks of antibiotics, and, within a month, all symptoms resolved themselves. I do not have SIBO. I have gained 45 lbs. My lower limbs are balloons, I no longer have knees, and blood circulation seems to have stopped. I have varicose veins have popped out everywhere and the bottom of my feet are purple. The 45 pounds has added so much stress to my body that the 2 titanium rods around my spine have fractured, there is a new horizontal break, and I was told that a piece of 1 rod is missing. I am in extreme pain.

I no longer eat because I’m always full ( my body never changes, though). My stomach is rock hard. I can’t bend because of the knee pain and I have trouble breathing. My upper limbs have started swelling. A tech was unable to get blood out of my right arm. I have been given 7 colonoscopy preps, with no results. The latest radiologist performed a barium enema test despite the stool bulk. He used paddles. I was diagnosed, finally, with a mobile cecum and a very tortuous colon. My GI doctor said I would need surgery to attach my cecum to the abdominal wall plus resection if of my colon. It was explained to me that, the first episode was probably the mobile cecum and SIBO.

I was referred to a colorectal surgeon, and was thrilled at the thought of finally getting a life back. I’ve spoken to my back surgeon and a vascular surgeon. Neither will attempt surgery until my abdomen is “deflated”. The surgeon said no surgery. She was not concerned with the cecum and said that my stomach was fat. She said that my problem was not GI related and I should look into other specialists. My GI dr said there’s nothing more he can do. He’d pray for me. So, 2 years later, with new problems developing, I have no diagnosis and no course of action.

Looks like autoimmune disease causing your problems. See a rheumatologist. Need lots of work up. Needs too many imaging studies. Complicated. See your pcp who should do work up and proper referrals
Consult Functional Medicine. May start Acupuncture with Moxabustion.
You can always get another GI opinion but GI docs are limited to medical treatments. If you have constipation then we may be able to help. Something that is often missed in people with constipation is the possibility of a defecation disorder. If you have a defecation disorder then it might be another reason to consider a surgery, but for a different reason than what has been discussed with you so far.
