Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist Questions Pediatrician

My 3 year old has trouble eating?

I am a mother of a 3 years old girl. My child had a problem with vomiting since she was 6 months old when I started to give her food until now. She is losing weight and she doesn't want to eat any proper food, she just wants snacks and drinks only. I am very worried about her health, now it's been a week having a loose stomach and sometimes she vomits.

She should have labs drawn to rule out systemic disease ie celiac thyroid ....
She should be seen by a gastroenterologist
This should be addressed immediately with your pediatrician. Chronic vomiting for that long is extremely concerning, especially with poor weight gain. You doctor should refer you immediately to a pediatric gastroenterologist, if there is any delay in the referral your doctor should order lab tests and if any critical values you should be referred to a Pediatric Emergency Center.

You should have your daughter seen by a primary care provider. Weight loss with the symptoms that you describe is always a concern. Persistent diarrhea could be an indicator of food sensitivity (gluten-celiac) or other factor leading to malabsorption. Young children who drink excessive amounts of milk can have iron deficiency and anemia. An evaluation by a primary care provider will help to sort out whether a medical problem exists as well as provide guidance on approaches to diet.
I am very worried about your daughter. Vomiting with weight loss should be evaluated by a pediatrician urgently. You can keep her hydrated with Pedialyte but you need to call her doctor for an appointment right now.
Your child needs swallow study and gastroenterologist evaluation, a possible cause for her symptoms hiatal hernia, or other causes for GERD.

You need to get her to the pediatrician for evaluation. I am an adult GI doc, so this is best addressed by pediatrics, but weight loss should always prompt a medical work-up in a child.
