Adolescent Specialist Questions Depression

My daughter will not speak to any of us. What should I do?

My husband and I just separated because we've been fighting almost constantly. But now, my daughter (who is 16 years old), won't speak to either of us. I've tried to sit her down to talk to her about it, but she won't respond to me at all. What should we do?

Consult a psychologist and get her into regular therapy for some time
She needs to see a counselor. She's probably mad at both of you for the divorce. Kids also need to grieve the loss of a marriage because they are losing the dream of a united family. Counseling can really help them accept a divorce and help them communicate how they feel to their parents.
