Please go to your nearest emergency department and if you cannot physically get there, call 911.
If you are having thoughts of self harm, go directly to the emergency room. They can get you help immediately. I would also recommend talking to your primary care physician for consults to a psychologist.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling depressed since 10-20-2016. That is a long time to suffer without seeking any help. Not knowing your location, it is difficult for me to refer you to a licensed psychologist and psychiatrist in your area. So, I would suggest contact your PCP for a referral. Also, request help from your insurance company and ask for a referral to a provider specializing in depression. Do not delay or procrastinate. In the meanwhile, you can start reading "Feeling Good" by Dr. David Burns.
Take care and remain safe.

Has something personal triggered the depression or is it related to our world health crisis?
Have Mom and Dad make appointment with a psychologist and a psychiatrist for you. Take Brain type assessment by Dr. Amen and review screening report.

I am so sorry – that is a very very long time to feel depressed! Please seek help right away, despite the COVID. Contact or go to a psychiatric hospital if you have one in your area. If not, go to the best hospital available, or get your doc to refer you. Not that you may need to stay in a hospital, but you need a good treatment plan to start on.

Good luck,

Dr. Marian K. Shapiro
