On and off chest pain suddenly?

I have a history of overeating but I'm definitely not obese and my family overeats too but don't have these symptoms. I had a migraine for a month and a missed period for a month. Suddenly one night I had sharp chest pain that felt like a heart attack and I never had it before. I finally got my period that night, but horrible sharp chest pain. Now sometimes here and there I get dry coughs out of nowhere suddenly. I don't get sharp chest pain anymore, though, but my voice is definitely hoarse suddenly and I sometimes get acid in my throat. The ER never looked into my body exams but they just diagnosed me with GERD they never did a proper diagnosis other than a common chest x-ray and blood work.

I don't think the chest pain and acid reflux are related. The usual course of action for concerns for stomach acid going into up the esophagus is to take a PPI like Prilosec or Nexium. This blocks acid production and most if not all true acid reflux symptoms should resolve. If the PPI pills do not help then the problem is not acid and you should see a GI doctor.
